A cardiac stress test is one of the most common screening tests used to diagnose coronary artery disease. Because some forms of coronary disease are difficult to detect when a patient is resting, a cardiac stress test often helps to detect symptoms.

Patients are asked to perform a low level of exercise on a treadmill while heart rate and blood pressure are closely monitored and recorded. All tests are monitored by on-site cardiologists and critical care nurses.
